2012 Young Creative Chevrolet Competition

2012 Young Creative Chevrolet Competition – a pan-European arts competition nurturing talent and building business acumen for young designers and artists across Europe. With amazing cash prizes available and a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to work with the most influential professionals in the industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for all emerging artists in the early stages of their career. You can find out more about Young Creative Chevrolet here: http://www.youngcreativechevrolet.eu

Next year Chevrolet will launch seven new cars and the theme for 2012 will be in keeping with this. The brief will revolve around Chevrolet’s Make it Happen campaign and participants are encouraged to interpret this message in imaginative and unexpected ways.

Entrants (both individuals and groups) are asked to respond to a creative brief across one of five disciplines including: fashion, photography, video and visual art and the more unique the project the better. Please find a document attached to this email outlining the 2012 briefs for photography, design, fashion and film.

There are two levels to the competition, first a national round in June and second a European round in July culminating in an awards show in October announcing the overall winners within each category.

All the national winners will be awarded with cash prizes of up to £1,000 and the first place winners will be invited to the European finals. There, they will be judged against other country finalists for a cash prize of up to €4,000 and a chance to work with top professionals in their disciplines. This is the ultimate prize for any budding artist looking to get a behind the scenes look at top companies in their industry.

Since its creation in 2007 the Young Creative Chevrolet competition continues to attract not only more students, schools and countries, but heightened media attention and jury members who are well-known leaders and innovators in their fields. This year’s 2011 awards ceremony was attended by English fashion designer, Wayne Hemmingway, one of Europe’s most respected graphic designers, Neville Brody and nominated Academy Award Film Director, Lucy Walker.

There is no cost at all to register for the competition or to submit an entry. All entry details including the registration form can be found online at www.youngcreativechevrolet.eu

design competition!

• A unique opportunity, this competition will be open to the UK’s top emerging

winning designer coming onto the Boticca website to be given a special package
of support from PR, marketing and editorial resources to help launch their
designs and brand

• Brief
– Design a collection (3-5 pieces minimum) that would be suitable for sale on Boticca.com
(be sure to acquaint yourself with the site and what Boticca is all about)
– To be in with a chance of being successful, your design must be truly unique and embody
Boticca’s brand style and ethos
– Send the photo of your designs by 31 May 2012, to curators@boticca.com with a
description of your inspirations and your background
– A shortlist will then be selected to be voted on by the public in early March with the

– This competition is open to students and alumni

N.B. The winning designer will be given a designer profile on Boticca.com for two months.
However, if the 3-5-piece capsule collection is expanded to 10 or more suitable pieces within
that 2-month period, Boticca will opt to feature the designer permanently on the site

What is Boticca?
Specially curated and highly editorialised by a team of fashion experts,
designers, stylists, editors, bloggers and collectors, Boticca.com is the online
boutique destination from which 240+ emerging independent designers from
40+ countries worldwide are able to showcase and sell their very own unique
jewellery pieces and fashion accessories – and tell the stories and inspiration
behind them.

Boticca.com was born out of an inspired moment when one of our founders
discovered a rare find in the bustling Medina of Marrakesh, realising that such
unique design talent was almost impossible to find. And just like that, Boticca
came into existence and has since become a place where everyone now has
the opportunity to experience the joy of that rare unique find, buying directly
from the designers themselves and contacting them personally.

Boticca.com is trying to change the landscape for top independent artists by
giving them a credible voice in what can be a crowded and difficult industry to
break into. We aim to provide designers a platform through which they can
reach customers worldwide, who appreciate meaningful pieces made by
exceptional design talent.

Design for Playful Promises’ SS13 lingerie collection

Playful Promises are offering you a tantalising chance to feature one of your lingerie designs in the Playful Promises SS13 lingerie collection ‘Paradise’.

Think 2030 meets 1950 – future retro… break down re-create. Think about the emergence of the East for exotic infusions and to really get the brain in gear think of the poem ‘Paradise Lost’ – innocence Vs sin and above  all – think about flirty fun as most of all we design collections that are pretty, eye catching but always fun to wear.

Playful Promises is a London Based lingerie brand designing and making lingerie, swimwear, gifting and clothing collections. Playful Promises prides itself on being flirty and even a little bit dirty.

Our lingerie collection comes out twice a year. It’s a heavily anticipated collection by UK stores and further afield. It’s important that the lingerie design fits with the brand and previous collections, understated sensuality with a sense of quirky, flirtaceous tempatation.
